The Kaleidoscope
Website redesign and WIX Studio Development
Background
The-Kaleidoscope is a mental health support group community dedicated to transforming mental health. Their mission is to provide accessible, inclusive resources that make it easier for people to connect with the support they need.
With the full redesign of their website, the organization now has a modern, responsive, and accessible platform that reflects their values and makes it simple for visitors to navigate, find information, and engage across devices.
Challenge
The biggest challenge was to transform The-Kaleidoscope’s outdated website into a modern, accessible platform while keeping the same audience engaged and encouraging new members to join. The site had a large amount of information that needed to be reorganized with greater clarity and structure, and the redesign also required adapting to WIX Studio as a new development tool.

Solution
The redesign introduced a modern, responsive design with clear navigation and improved visual hierarchy. Accessibility standards were integrated throughout, and the site was rebuilt in WIX Studio to ensure consistency across devices. The result is a professional platform that better represents The-Kaleidoscope and makes it easier for people to join and engage with the community.

Approach
The project began with initial exploration in WordPress, but technical limitations led us to shift into Figma and WIX Studio. We started with low-fidelity wireframes to define layout and structure, followed by high-fidelity wireframes and a refreshed visual identity. To address content overload, we streamlined information, prioritized key resources, and introduced clearer navigation with buttons and simplified content blocks. Throughout the process, designs were tested and validated within the volunteer group and with stakeholders. Finally, the designs were transferred into WIX Studio using a Figma plugin and refined to ensure responsiveness across devices.

Design Desicions
The design system was refreshed with a welcoming color palette chosen to better reflect the brand’s identity. For typography, Poppins and DM Sans were introduced to ensure both accessibility and readability while maintaining a modern, approachable look. The layout was reorganized using cards, buttons, accordions, and dropdowns to simplify navigation and make resources easier to find. Updated illustrations and partner logos were integrated to align with the new brand scheme. All components were prepared in Figma for consistency, with WIX’s native widgets customized to match the overall style.

Results
The redesigned website provides clear navigation and makes it easy for visitors to find resources and join The-Kaleidoscope’s community and support groups. Volunteers have given positive feedback, noting the simplicity of engaging with the site and signing up for groups with just a click. The platform is also much easier for the team to update and maintain, ensuring the site remains current and accessible over time.
